Kumu Falls

Hey there,

Well I'm still in Lethem, getting quite bored of it now however Sam, Dave and myself had an amazing day today. We went to the local Kanuku mountains to see the Kumu Falls.

This was a brilliant location and the waterfalls were so cool. We walked up 3 falls and swam in each of them which was a fun new experience. Then we went and chopped down coconut which was so much better than tesco's 'fresh' stuff. The liquid was unbelievable and then the jelly like stuff was also really good.

Then 2 guys showed us how to catch fish and we cooked them on an open fire and they were delicious.

All in all its been a fantastic day and we're leaving at 5am tomorrow so I shall get back in time to teach again which is a relief.

If all goes to plan this will be my last entry for a few weeks (if I don't get burnt again!!) so I will keep everyone updated when I can.

Congratulations on making it so far, Gary. sounds like you're in for a fascinating year. We would really appreciate a short piece for the next Academy newsletter in December if that were possible. Good to see that you are having a good time. Just read about you in the newsletter. Mum said that you were told slip, slop, slap. Slip on a t-shirt, slop on some sincerely and slap on a hat she says you were taught that a primary school haha
